Roger and I decided to treat ourselves to a “Pop up afternoon tea” at one of our favorite venues The Fairway Hotel in Barrow-in-Furness.
Suzy and Anthony from the Fairways were our hosts for the afternoon. The food was delicious, beautifully presented with a selection of sandwiches, cakes, pastries including raspberry and white chocolate “Mille Feuille”, chocolate macaroons with a zingy lime, dark chocolate “Ganache”. Freshly baked scones served with homemade raspberry jam and clotted cream where also a delight to see on the menu.
Not only did we enjoy our afternoon tea but there was also a complimentary box of home made chocolates made by Anthony from “The Chocolate Room” to sample. Our son decided to be the taster for the chocolates and had to taste them all before we had a chance to choose one, so we have all decided to go back to The Fairways Hotel “Chocolate Room” in April for the next pop up afternoon tea for our next treat.
I particularly enjoyed from the menu, the Cartmel Valley Smoked Salmon and Cucumber Sandwich, Roger enjoyed the “Free Range Egg” and “Chive Mayonnaise Sandwich”.
We enjoyed our time at The Fairway this afternoon and would recommend this event to anyone wanting a tasteful relaxing special treat.
